I just tried to force the ONE result on my XP2200+ to upload. It displayed a transfer rate of .13KBps (way low) and the progress made it up to 2.29% prior to reset of connection.

[edit] so It did connect but got booted. There's probably something causing dropped connections. I just don't think it's solely the quantity of traffic as a 3 hour outage doesn't seem to generate the backlog like a multiday outage does.

On the server page it seems there are a lot of WU's in the splitters...It seems everything at Berkley (server wise) is going slow..

Hey MJ

I am seeing -106 errors... and the transfer rates may indicate the network stack did not fire up properly... Or a Switch...

Here I was hoping that the Large Credit Spikes in BoincStats would scroll off the screen in a couple of weeks LOL...

I guess I was fooled... Snciker...

I was starting to think so too, but with some uploads and downloads happening, I'm back towards leaning to the traffic jam theory.

Wishful thinking! And, would you really want the dip in those stats that would have to come first? 8-)[/quote]

The traceroute of Jason Safoutin shows it going to Klaatu, maybe it runs the internal network to Kryten, and someone is standing on that hose causing the slowdown in traffic. "Pssst, hey Matt, lift your left foot please"

I think the office chair might be to blame on the kink ;-)

Has no-one noticed the vast increase in the number of Results in progress? It really becomes obvious when you look at the TeamSeti or Cricket graphs - for days we have been chugging along at about 1,210,000 and now a sudden increase of over 110,000 (nearly 10%). Either something very large has joined Seti, or completed units are not getting through.

At the moment it seems a lot of completed WU's are not getting uploaded. As for someone big joining, I wonder who would have so much computer power and why they would be so eager to analyze data?

[The infamous current limiting knot in the cable?

Suppose some of the new found loads are due to the migration of classic data over to the dark side, per the last tech news? There's always the good old standby.....

Maybe...But things are starting to get a little too backed up to be that I think

From the bandwidth graphs -> http://fragment1.berkeley.edu/~cricket/inr-668-interfaces.html things look pretty "normal", but I now have 8 wu's ready for upload and 1 wu stuck in download and am still getting

Couldn't connect to hostname [setiboincdata.ssl.berkeley.edu]
Temporarily failed upload of 19fe04ab.3149.18880.272152.139_0_0: system I/O

Mind you, in looking at my messages, I was able to download a wu about 20min ago.

Live long and crunch.

Ok I waited the time that BOINC listed. Here are the messages:

Also on the server status page, the results ready to send keep climbing dramatically as well as the WU in progress....Whats up? something is NOT right here. Another WU will try to upload in a few hours.
