im running boinc on a spare computer which has a dial up connection, and i wonder if there is a way like with classic seti that it can be set to connect to the internet only for upload and download while i am away? i dont seem to be able to get the preference settings correct if this is possible....any help?

that function is currently under development. It should be available in a few weeks when V5.2.X comes out.

thank you tony, so meanwhile its just connect to the internet manually and do the work that way? its not so great a hassle for the better of all now is it? heh.

I notice you didn't reply with any comment of your own. It was either intentional or an accident. If an accident then you have 1 hour to "edit" your previous posts vs making a whole new one. This is also handy if you notice typos. Look at your previous post and click on "Edit this Post" to edit previous posts. After an hour it's permanent.
