Thanks for your input. Seriously. I wish the "powers that be" could hear the legitimate concerns of people like you, which unfortunately get drowned out by the screaming hordes. If you have any Macs that are on OS X, or whenever you update, try BOINC on one of the smaller projects. Any issues you have are more likely to be heard there, and you can learn without all the SETI "overhead". Then you can come back and crunch for SETI from a solid foundation.
