Hi!

This is to continue the discussion from the thread "Wishlist - your most wanted wish" as I was hijacking the thread against the thread polica set up by Prognatus.

I really apology for this, wasn't my intention and didn't make a thought on the thread policies.

OK, here it goes.

I updated the script to version 0.6.5 and found out why the script was going into the error "This page does not contain data".
I can blame it on the behavior the php engine has put out the data. I changed this in the configuration and now you will see the progress it makes.
Every host it has collected it puts out directly.
So, even Honie will get his results! :-))

Try it and post errors, wishes or comments regarding my script.

Andy

Oh, that's perfectly OK. :) I was making a general post - it wasn't directed at you or anybody else in particular. Anyway, it's easy to excuse you because you made a truly great php script! :D ...and you're always posting useful things. So, apology accepted - even if you didn't have to make one. :)

You don't! :-)

Enter them once and run the script.
After you get the result, the URL now contains all options.
Bookmark the page and you won't have to enter your hosts another time when using your bookmark.

Andy...Thanks so much for your work on this. I have only one request. Is it possible to put a date and time stamp up at the top? In UTC format of course.

Thanks

Err...??
Of course I can put in a timestamp, but what do you want it to relay on?
The time the script has started?
The time the last WU was taken from the server to your host? (already implemented)
Or what? Please explain further.

Paul,
Don't worry
I've written a script which deals with ALL the projects and will soon work with User IDs

Give me till about 17:00 UTC (When SETI dies, sadly).

Update to version: 0.6.6

changes:
* some sourcecode handling

fixed:
* when you enter a large number of hostIDs and the script is going to get an timeout it wasn't filling in the hostIDs it missed collecting data. Now all hosts you entered are filled in the form again. You can delete the already calculated hosts out of the form and just hit enter again to get the rest.

added:
* In first column it now enumerates the hosts. Now you can see with a blink of an eye how many hosts it got (referring to the fixed issue)

You can always use the same URL, bookmarked or from the first post in this thread.

I'm sorry...the time the script started. For my use in comparing daily printout.

Nice script, just a few questions/suggestions ...

You say that if the script timesout just delete the hosts that it has retreived data for and hit 'fetch' again. I get around 21-22 hosts (out of 32), but when I remove the successful queries from the hostID form and restart it just keeps going back to the hostID form and doesn't attempt to requery.

If there was a checkbox next to each hostID you could select which hosts you wanted to query on that 'fetch' and it would allow me to keep all the hostIDs and the last query results bookmarked on the same page.

Also, would it be possible to just enter your User ID and let the script find the computer hostIDs (as a first use or refresh option on the main page)? My hosts change regularly and there could be anywhere betwene 32 and 256 of them ...

He said that wasn't possible due to some people having their computers hidden. My opinion, if they have their computers hidden then they can't use it. Make it to where the rest of us without our computers hidden can use the UserID only, and if they want to use it, they can unhide their computers. I don't know why anyone would hide their computers anyway?

SETI shows my granted credit 55,029.54 yet the calculator shows it as 51764.37 ??

Forget this I deleted a computer from account awhile back. That explains it...

Sorry, missed a line.
It's fixed now in version 0.6.7

Yep, nice thought, but then I should start using cookies as the URL will get too long, won't it?

[Also, would it be possible to just enter your User ID and let the script find the computer hostIDs...[/quote]
As I said in the "old" hijacked thread:
...
Do you think it's possible to query the UserID instead of
the ComputerID?

No, because not every one has enabled the view of his computers.
If I don't get the link to the hostlist, I cannot fetch the hostIDs

To overcome this I could ask you to enter your account key, so my script could log in as the owner to get this list...
But that I won't do for security issues!
A malicous guy could copy the sourcecode (look at the link "Display Source" at the end of the page) modify it, run it on his server to collect account keys and do harm to your accounts.

You could still have the option and if the User has hidden computers it returns an error/failure and if they don't have hidden computers it makes querying the results much easier ?

You have hidden your computers, I can't look into this issue without verifying the host(s).

Could you give me your hostIDs, or unhide your computers please?
you may mail them to me: seti at andyk dot de

Well, yes.
ok, you convinced me, but this will take a little more recoding than bugfixing and actually I was to leave for a week an hour ago, but could not let you here with a buggy script.
I will do it when I'm back.

Geek@Play: I will enter your timestamp and if no other bugs are revealed I will settle for the run.

All done for User IDs on CJSoft UK's Version.

See http://cjsoftuk.dyndns.org/boinc/PCM.php and click on the link for entering your user ID.

This should work until AndyK gets back and upgrades his script. He takes features from mine, and I take features from his. In this instance, however, I'm ahead but he isn't far behind. Not that we're competing, we're working together on a certain problem.

Anyway, happy crunching, and check the pending credit by User ID on the site listed above.

added:
* UTC timestep formatted like the ones berkeley uses

Hey Chris!
Great you got it to work.
I tested it with my userID and does what it's ment to do. *clapclap*

[edit]
Other two tests are running:
* Dale McNamara (userID=23860) failed without errormessage. He has hidden his computers.
* Honie (userID=47851) still running...85 hosts are to query...worked!
