Nearly every day this month, I run the following routine; I go to my email to copy my account key, I click on the seti http above this. I go to ceate account and sellect configure, paste the acount key and click the ok. I am transported to http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/account_setup_nonfirst_done.php, (after making sure that there is no trace of past boinc,) After installing I see the familiar outdated account info listed in projects. I already know that I am doomed, It will tell me again; invalid account key..........................
Since boinc manager believes that I am the gost of seti past, I will try and ask for and update,,,It is seti grounghog day, and I am seti bill murry. Trying the same things until I get it right. Is there a god????

Are you copying any spaces in front of the key?

Here is a link to an article in the Wiki documentation, which talks about that error, with suggestions on getting past it.

JUst what are you trying to do? You have an Acct that is how you are posting. So are you trying to connect to a project? Please unhid your computer that makes it a lot easier to help you....To attach to Seti go to Boinc Manager projects tab, then click on the attach tab, and then enter your URL and acct number in the popup....

hi max;

What I am trying to do is to run seti@home on my laptop as well.
(It seems to me with your numbers that you could relate to this.)
To make a long story short my system had crashed, and there were remnents of seti past, (I searched all the files, found and deleated them.)
At this time, it had accepted the account key, but can not connect with the host.
