I've been using BOINC now for a couple months with SETI and about 60% of my WU are returning errors. It is always Client Error - Computing. I have no idea why this is happening but it is frustrating and becoming a waste of time if the majority of the work my pc is doing never gets used. Please help.

According to those ones that are errored, you have sent back a result that can not be validated against others.

Several causes of this are, bad memory, bad CPU, overheating CPU, overclocked CPU or even bad power supply.

I would start with testing the memory and CPU. Memtest86 is a great memory testing program, and Prime95 is an awesome CPU testing program. As for power supply, if these two pass, that might be the first thing to change out, afterwards.

The distributed computing programs, like Seti use 100% of the CPU at a low priority. This means your system is taxed almost as hard as it can be. If there is even a small glitch, you will get errors like you are seeing. Overclocking a CPU even causes more stress on a CPU.

So, give the tests a try, and let us know how it comes out.

Good luck.
