> Does it have a gui screensaver? Or is it boring like Predictor at home? The website says it has simple screensaver graphics, but I've yet to see any work from the project, so I can't comment on whether it's boring or not. <a> |

I was lucky enough to have one work unit for Pirates@home (anyone know why it's named that? Seems to have nothing to do with Einstein or space). I think my computer processed it in like 3 minutes, as opposed to the 2.5hrs that a SETI result takes. So I guess it was just a test WU. I haven't seen one since, and from the website it seems that lots more people have signed up recently so there aren't many WU's to go around. :( I think between Einstein@home, Astropulse, and SETI@home I'm going to have enough crunching to go around. Time to start saving money to buy more computers. :) |

It was quick, but it crashed and burned. Interesting naming conventions going on there as well. WU jack(and some numbers) processed by lalane(and some numbers). Not sure what's up with that... ;-) <a> |
