For getting BOINC up and running go to: Step-by-Step Instructions

Also have a look at Paul D Buck's BOINC FAQ and BOINC Documentation

And if you already have a Classic account have a look at old credits

Apologies in advance for any repetion in links.

If you're not getting any of the answers you're looking for, try Message Search which searches all Seti forums including this one.

And whilst you're about it, it couldn't do any harm to do a search of the BOINCWiki

Here is another useful link if you seem to be having problems connecting:

SERVER STATUS

And I'd like to draw your attention to the message "This page was last modified on...." just in case it is 'stuck' and has not been updated recently.

If you're looking for a way to see your STATS, compare them to other peoples, etc, then go to BOINCstats.com
Just enter your username in the Search user or team box.

There are other places that do them aswell, find them with Google

These are all really great links, this entire thread ought to be put in the Help menu of BOINC.

As an addendum to Message 120930:

I would like to point out that (just about) every conceivable question has already been asked and answered or at least discussed.
The problem is that every other person asks the same question in a slightly different way and so may not easily recognise that a solution or solutions provided could actually apply to them also.

So what to do?
Learn how to do a search: the more you do it the easier it gets and the more proficient you become.
You will have little choice but to wade through loads of links that (at first glance) don't seem to be related to your query, but as you become better at refining your search you will get fewer and more appropriate links.

Learning something new is always difficult at first, but after a while you wont believe that you didn't get it first time. But you have to make the initial effort if you want to understand/learn.

As an addendum to Message 120879:

A little housekeeping to the links and sub-links from old credits

Below are hopefully some of the more useful links if you already have a Seti Classic account

Credits ... How do i get credit for the old stuff

Missing classic account

Can't Remember Seti Classic Password?

Apologies if I seem to be repeating myself, but I thought it might be a good idea to try and keep them in one thread.

As an addition to Message 121714

As far as I am aware, the Seti screen saver app downloads automatically once Boinc is connected to the Seti Web site, you don't have to download it separately. Though the screen saver doesn't work if you install/run Boinc as a service.

If you want to check the screen saver go to the work tab in Boinc Manager, click on the project that is currently running, and then click on the show graphics button.

Man, you guys have lost me. I've been gone for three months only to come back to find this mess. SOME people in the real world don't have time to geek out. I don't need 562 project messages to explain why SETI won't down load. Additionally, I have no interest in building Frankenstein - I just wanna find E.T..

Too bad for SETI

Perhaps someone contact Team Multinational them I'm out of here.
