The more I struggle with BOINC the more disgusted I become. I have an account code and a URL but BOINC tells me that they are invalid. They were provided by boincadm@ssl.berkeley.edu so they should be fine BUIT they don't work. Can someone please help me!

here is the url to use for Seti:
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu
you MUST use the WHOLE THING, INCLUDING the http://
for the account number do a copy and paste, there are waaaaay to many letters and numbers and if even ONE is wrong the thing won't work!

EACH project has it's own url and password so the above url will NOT work for Einstein or CPDN or whatever, JUST Seti

You seem to have (or have had) Seti BOINC up and running here

Without more information it's difficult to know what the problem is.

I suggest using copy and paste to put the url and Account ID from your email into your attach new project box (so as to try to avoid typos and blank spaces etc)

Have a look at this: step by step instructions

Note:
the url is http://setiathome.berkeley.edu
and make sure you use the Account ID and NOT the Account Number or the Cross-Project ID

I've checked the posts to make sure I'm not asking the same thing twice - I used the URL and Account Key but I keep getting these errors over and over again:
