that's a client operating now with the optimized SETI application.

as mentioned, when running in HT mode, and having more than 2 Seti WUs ;)
the final cpu time per SETI WU is around 2:45 +-.

Now getting above times..

once again merci and thankyou for this work.

It makes me happy, that not everything what belongs to boinc, must turn into the bad way.

keep on!

@MiniZiper

May I kindly ask you to edit your reply and remove the image from your answer, please?
This would help the dial in users, the same image must not loaded twice, thankyou ;)

credits is not all, the joy and fun is (4me) higher rated

For the "science" it could be also a gain, faster returning of the processed datas.

The other thing, more load server side. Basically they are build for keeping load, that's why "computer" are build, to have load.

A "Computer" not having something to do, must not be build.
(backup and standby server excluded)

and how much credits is enough?

For far could never buy a cup of coffee with all the accumulated credits:)

happy chunching

I've tried adding both of the SETI clients you have for AthlonXP.
(seti-p3.zip and YAOSCW-K-r7.zip)
I have an AthlonXP 2700+ (Thoroughbred) It has SSE. It also has MMX+.
Per the instructions on http://www.shadyshack.dyndns.org/readme.txt,
I ran the setiathome_4.11_windows_intelx86.exe file.
However I only got the boinc_lockfile and stderr.txt files, no results.sah file.
Does this mean this is a nogo?

MiniZiper if I may make a suggestion, try running pics thru a graphics program and lower the resolution and size, but keep it readable, cause it is almost 400k and that is killing the dailup guys, Thank You....

It's not that difficult I think.. just follow the installation notes on my site (copied from one of the threads on this message board) and see if it works.. good chance it will.

Basically it means copying the optimized seti app and the app_info.xml to your \\program files\\boinc\\projects\\setiathome.berkeley.edu\\ folder and restart boinc.

Greetings,
Speedy67

Well it seems to have worked okay. It's just that SETI is a little hard to communicate with right now. I'll run it through the weekend at least and see if verification works out.
Thanks

Might a new canonical rating?

1-1=0

A postivite rating is one way to estimate "something well".
It's a sign of admiration too.

keep on the successfully path!

Using the optimized versions as soon as the got available.
Running now 4 clients with.

Not having any kind of problem with it. They are wonderful stable.

The only callenge is to get work from the seti project, as long as the are up.

regards

There, I went to each of your posts in this thread and the YAOSCW thread and gave each a + vote.

yeah, but as I wrote before, when I hit a minus rating on my post with "0" rating, it hadn't gone to "-1". Instead it stayed "0". So I had been wondering "-" really worked or not. That's why I tried it.

Now I understand a minus rating is displayed as "0", and the real rating is hidden.

Getting work from the server? If you don't have other projects attached to boinc core, you can simply set work_buf_min_days to a bigger value....I set it to 15 days and I'll never be out of work :) and I'm very happy!! boinc core doesn't check the maximum value (as far as I saw the source.)

May the Source be with you!

strange, I just gave your previous post a - rating and it's showing 0 and it was already 0. this system used to display negative ratings.

tony

I rated it negative as a test, no insult intended.

Ditto with me, but now it's -1. Perhaps the first minus goes into the trash.

Please ++ him, everybody else!

Watch out. Another 18 or so negative posts and your message will be automatically filtered out. I would't worry. LOL

I used the 4.11 SSE2 client, and got a 3x boost in performance. Also noted some of the 'credit claimed' #'s not being accepted, but increased in what was 'given'.

Always knew the AMD 64 could kick major crunching.

Told a friend about the optimized clients. His response:

"Dont use them, they have virus' in them"

'Really'

I think BitDefender (my AV prog) would have a fit if that were tha case, and just from downloading them! :)

Weird people all around.
