Hi, I'm trying to attach a NEW client to the project, and am getting the below messages. Respectfully, I have already: 1. Searched these boards 2. Searched Paul Buck's (excellent) site. 3. copy/pasted my account key directly from my original welcome email. Also was careful about spaces or completeness of the key. 4. Connectivity to server: I'm getting successful RPC to the server 5. Account valid: successfully signed in and out of my account on the account page, and even created a new account and attempted to attach with the new account. To no avail. My other systems are connecting and returning work fine. Does the "host ID not assigned yet" have any validity, or is that because it has not yet finished syncing up with my account? Thanks in advance, /temple The sequence of events: 2005-06-02 16:24:01 [---] Starting BOINC client version 4.32 for hppa1.1-hp-hpux11.11 2005-06-02 16:24:01 [---] Data directory: /opt/boinc 2005-06-02 16:24:01 [http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/] Using your default project prefs 2005-06-02 16:24:01 [http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/] Host ID not assigned yet 2005-06-02 16:24:01 [---] No general preferences found - using BOINC defaults 2005-06-02 16:24:01 [---] Insufficient work; requesting more 2005-06-02 16:24:04 [---] Insufficient work; requesting more 2005-06-02 16:24:04 [http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/] Requesting 8640.00 seconds of work 2005-06-02 16:24:04 [http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/] Sending request to scheduler: http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi 2005-06-02 16:24:05 [http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/] Scheduler RPC to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi succeeded 2005-06-02 16:24:05 [SETI@home] Message from server: Invalid or missing account key. or missing account key. Visit this project's web site to get an account key. The URL is http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu not http://setiathome.berkeley.edu That might help :) I'd rather speak my mind because it hurts too much to bite my tongue. Thanks Celtic, I get a 403 forbidden on that page, and the client doesn't like it much either. 2005-06-02 16:38:31 [http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/] Master file fetch failed BOINC couldn't get main page for http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/. Please check the URL and try again. Thanks! /temple |

Hi, I know you said you double checked the authenticator. but you should have the master_URL and scheduler URL as shown from my client state.xml file ... Part of client_state: <master_url>http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/</master_url> <project_name>SETI@home</project_name> <user_name>Paul D. Buck</user_name> <user_total_credit>206100.438045</user_total_credit> <user_expavg_credit>781.590271</user_expavg_credit> <user_create_time>964020710.000000</user_create_time> <rpc_seqno>980</rpc_seqno> <hostid>715569</hostid> <host_total_credit>10350.363149</host_total_credit> <host_expavg_credit>198.246354</host_expavg_credit> <host_create_time>1112730237.000000</host_create_time> <exp_avg_cpu>79468.029133</exp_avg_cpu> <exp_avg_mod_time>1117767659.801624</exp_avg_mod_time> <nrpc_failures>0</nrpc_failures> <master_fetch_failures>0</master_fetch_failures> <min_rpc_time>0.000000</min_rpc_time> <debt>0.000000</debt> <resource_share>100.000000</resource_share> <scheduler_url>http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi</scheduler_url> <code_sign_key> Also look in account_setiathome.berkeley.edu.xml for authenticator and <scheduler_url> The authenticator should be exactly as shown in the e-mail between the <authenticator> and </authenticator> |

I know you said you double checked the authenticator. but you should have the master_URL and scheduler URL as shown from my client state.xml file ... Thanks Paul, that was the winner! My client_state.xml was missing the entire stanza. While this should have populated from the attach_project action, somehow it was not. By copying the project stanza (and the account file) from another working client, I was able to get past *that* problem... Thanks to all for the help! /temple |

Yea! :) I am glad you are back in business ... For what it is worth, I made an update though you can't see it yet where I added this additional information. |

Actually, now you can see it... mouse down to the BOINC Messages link, look up "Invalid account key, and take a look at what is there ... see if I had done that before it it would have helped, or not... I am not sure if I want to put it all on one page, or separate out the advanced stuff... pros an cons either way. But, one of the complaints about the documentation is that ther eare not enough examples... and I plan to work on that ... Oh, and for the Macintosh guys, I did make screen shots of the tab I migrated... |

I wan't to reproduce the problems from templeofdoom (he uses my hpux client package), and get the same problem with the registration like him. Could it be that it is a problem in the boinc 4.32 ? Lars |

I wan't to reproduce the problems from templeofdoom (he uses my hpux client package), and get the same problem with the registration like him. Looks like a problem on the server side. Can't upload or download any WU. No schedulers respond, registration is dead too. Lars |
