Last week there was an outage to do a full backup and get the replication server online. After they came back online, there was an issue with the firewall. This allowed no one to connect for about 18 hours. Once this was fixed, uploads and downloads worked. The validator was jamming up, thought. Got news today that the firewall issue was still the problem with the jamming up of the validators. So things were down for a little while whilst they fixed this. Life is back, and connections are coming back for people. Be patient, all will work out. My movie https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/502242 |

May 3, 2005 Our Cogent link has been down since around 9:00am PST (16:00 UTC). Data servers are currently unreachable. The problem is currently being diagnosed. Update: The latest word from Cogent: "There's currently a UFO (Unlimited Fiber Optics) issue that is affecting multiple customers that we are working as quickly as possible to resolve. It is possible that this issue is causing this particular outage. There is currently no ETA on resolution for the current issue." Update 2 (23:30 UTC): Cogent has isolated the fault and has dispatched a person to fix it. We hope to see it fixed soon. It looks like data is starting to flow again, within the last 1/2 hour or so. People are reporting connections, and the website showing the link shows data flowing. It will take a day or two for everyone to get connected again, cause the bandwidth will be at a premium. Unable to return results or contact the Schedulers at present. Expect to be able to do so intermittently after 12 hours or so, and normally after 24 or so. Grant Darwin NT |
