BOS says we're still unreachable. I'd hazard a guess that the data server is still down.

Ironically BOS itself was briefly unreachable (a crash, reason still unknown)

I agree -- which doesn't do much for confidence in the reporting systems when the current report is:

Could this have something to do with some New Firewall Software they just installed? It looks like all their Machines are Up and Running but nothing can go In or Out. I found this in another Post today. It was supposed to be just on the Classic Side however.

Actually, no. This was the beginning of a new firewall policy that didn't work as expected. Web site should be up again now. As you were...

Well, the Seti Classic side doesn't have a problem and has been working OK all of today. I last sent a unit out to Seti Classic within the past 15 minutes (I generate about 175 units a day from my Classic farm).

Its interesting to note, since BOINC is down, and classic is up, and they are still pulling about 2/3 of their normal bandwidth through their routers, that indicates to me that 2/3 of their network activity is still classic traffic.

S@H Classic seems to use 50MB/s of the bandwidth. BOINC uses 10MB/s generally.

Hi all

I've notice a problem with seti today.

I agree the server status page is not as useful as it could be.

The validators have a growing backlog.

This would indicate data is getting in.

This might indicate a problem with outgoing traffic as I seem to have upload issues.

Anyone any idea howlong it will take until the problems are solved??
I have 50 CPU's waiting for data and several hundreds of data-units waiting to be uploaded

Regards,
Arie

Looks like network or firewall problem. I have no route through after packets are reaching UC's router on campus.

I've got no probs whatsoever.

My last Seti will be crunched some time today, and if that happens before the connection problems of this single project is solved, I won't crunch it for some days.
But the other projects will eagerly take over the free CPU time. That's exact the behaviour Boinc was designed for.

If you restrict yourself to only one project, you're CPU will cool down every now and then, at least when WU creation cannot compete with WU demand at some point in the future.

So join some other projects, and be happy :)

For once my timing was actually good and i just happened to increase my cache prior to the outage. When my last four Seti WU's run out, i've always got Einstein to keep my CPU nice and toasty. :)
