The BOINC Screen Saver comes up and paints the SETI Screen with about 2 stripes of color then goes black and stays black. Anyone know what is going on and how to fix?

I am running Windows XP SP 2

Check your local screensaver settings. It sounds like you have a bad blank time stored there.

i had/have the same problem if i switched the goto blank option it would goto a blank screen in approx 10min regardless of the time settings

after unchecking it was better but after approx 10-20min it flashes up the desktop or toolbar then the screen goes black for 5min then back to the 3d screensaver again (3dfx vcard), it continues this off/on flash toolbar/desktop behaviour every 20min or so, very unreliable (perhaps coding a screensaver IS rocket science :P) , it also wont cancel on a keyboard command only the mouse and then it takes 20-30 seconds to restore the desktop, also in my preferences its set to do work after 10min of in-activity (same as my screensaver) but it never kicks in (telling me the saver is suspended) and will only work if i set it to "do work always",
the closer i look at this project the more it looks like its in pre-pre-alpha stage than public release or even beta, lets hope it gets a lot better before seti classic is phased out or a lot of people just wont bother

Does not matter what it is set at go blank on or off. The graphics on mine go blank within a second or two...

I have found it does not matter how you have the screen saver setup. On My system it goes to a blank screen within 1 or 2 seconds. I could have the go to blank turned off or set for 60 minutes. Either way I get the same results.

I have also found that screen savers from the other projects such as einstein@home and climateprediction work just fine. So that tells me that it is not the Boinc software but the seti@home screen saver..Can someone please explain that.. I would like to have all the screen savers working.
