Yo ned,

Speaking of free, have you convinced Einstein people to send you their science source so you can optimize that? :+P

They should optimize the new version of BOINC (2.25) for Linux !! I'm no good at that yet, I'm still a newbie in programming.

You surely mean BOINC 4.26, right? No problem. Got the sources, compiled it with Intel CC and am getting the benchmarks as Windows used to with 4.19 :)

Hey there Ben!

Our team has only just started an Einstein@Home team, but I haven't joined in that particular bundle of fun yet :)

So the Einstein source isn't freely available then - another reason for me to stick with seti.

^^ Personally, I'm glad the benchmark code in the latest boinc has been fixed - will save me having to produce optimised clients for linux just to get a level playing field - lol ;)

I'll do an optimized 4.26 version when it's officially released as stable. In the meantime, if you really can't wait, I think Aki's site has optimized versions for download. Otherwise, stick with the last stable release (4.19) or compile your own using my guide (in my signiture).

Ned
