It appears to if you change the computer's operating system or CPU, that BOINC will not allow you to merge the computer event though its the same machine.

I now have several redunant listings of the same computer an BOINC will not allow me to merge them - "upgrades" are inevitable.

I suspect that they are trying to maintain statistics based on CPU & operating system. I can understand that, but from a computer management stand-point, there needs to be a way to merging a host even if the OS or CPU is "upgraded".

You will be able to delete that host, once all results are validated and removed from the DB.

>Does this mean we will be able to merge before deleting a host? I don't want to lose credits from deleted hosts.

what happens to the credit from that host. is it lost. added to a different machine. put in a collective spot ie deleted machines?

Every credit is added to your total credits and to the machine credits. If a machine is deleted, the machine credit will be deleted, but the total credits remain unchanged.
