Thank you so much!!! But I'm not really back! Sunday evening a week ago my harddisk crashed, so I'm without computer at the moment. I'm using public computers at the library and at the job searching center, and after the past weeks turmoil, I preferred to stay silent and stay away from the board! But now where they have made a tolerably enviroment for us here, I decided to log on again! But before I get my computer back from repair, I will only be able to post here now and then! Having to use public computers is a real pain in the a**!

And about 12 WU's down the drain with the crash!!! :-(

Never had to use public computers, but just sitting round waiting to get on the next spare one would drive me up the wall.

I grew up in the 70s and the 80s so I barely nudged my way in here.
I remember goin to strangers home(non-family) to get candy by the bags full.
Rideing in Tonka Trucks( made of metal then) down a hill to see if we could make it to the bottom. Getting by but spanked( no social services intervention). It made me listen!. Smokeing areas at school. Pop bottle deposits at the grocery store. Grocery stamps. Full service gas and they checked the fluids( New Zealand still does this) and cleaned the windshield. Didn't even know what a law suit was and when I 1st had DAD explain it to me I said ...What if it was an accident?
Apollo missions. I must have drawn that spaceship a hundred times.
Rock fights. boxing, bb guns( w/o shooting out local lights) The Daisy RedRider.
Capguns that looked like the real thing(no Blaze orange). LawnDarts. Lightnin bugs. Childrens bows and arrow w/ tips on them.
Haveing to wait till I was 5 to have my own pocket knife( Barlow). I widdled wood w/ it till the blade was widdled down to nothing.
Hunting for the 1st time at 6. .22 western auto bolt action. Got my 1st ground hog.
1st gun I ever shot was a Colt Commander .45 at age 4. ( while my dad held my hands)
Now when we get the chance to get together we compete.

But for computers... My 1st was a Convict 20. followed by a trash 80 color 2 with 8k extended memory. I was eyeballing the Altair but never got the money. had other commidores though. saved files on cassette tape. 8", 5.25 floppies. optical tape drives( for CNC machines) and punch cards.
My 1st IBM was 8088( no math co :-( ) I still have it.
Gone where the days that someone had to know a computer language to make a computer do something. But we still had command line!
My college didn't have Internet access. the only PCs in the library where 8088s which were old at that time. In electronic class we argued about if a PC could break the 50MHz barrier!!! LOL and why mice where usless and never goin to make it in the real world.

Nope that means Mr. Burglar goes and robs the local "shop and rob" instead of my house..

I'd rather speak my mind because it hurts too much to bite my tongue.
