Personal background
I'm 31 years old, and run my own computer business. Luckily, I have a lot of extra machines laying around that are reserved for redundancy, so when they're not in use, why not donate CPU time to the SETI project?
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
If earth was created by evolution, and not by creation, then I believe that extraterrestrial life definately exists. Spending time to try and find an ET signal is a necessity.

If we do not find an ET signal, it only means that we're not doing it right, or they're not sending one. If nothing is found, it is indicative of nothing, and we should keep looking and listening.

If we do find an ET signal, I think we should not respond for a few years because we should be very sure about what we want to attract before we blindly go ahead and try and make contact. I think our current civilization is still very primitive, and we need to be very careful.

Irregardless, it's very impressive that people from all over the world are participating in a cooperative project like this together. In this early age of computers, I'm positive we can accomplish much more in the future and we're definately on the right track.

I'm proud of my participation with SETI@HOME, and you should be proud of your participation too. Tell all your family and friends, and let them know how you were part of a huge historical project.

Congratulations to everyone involved!
