Personal background
I was born in 1985 in Gabrovo, Bulgaria. I went to junuor school there where I recieved several awards for outsdanding achievments and for passing each school year with the maximum grades possible. At the same time I was going to programming lessons in a private school from 1993 until 1998. Then at the age of 14 I went to Sofia, the capital city of Bulgaria, to study at the American College of Sofia (ACS). Now I'm 16 and I'm still studuing there.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I deeply believe that we are not alone in the Universe. For one thing that would be an enormous waste of space, matter, and time. I think we are close to finding extraterrastrial intelligence but we have to make an effort too if we want to succeed in this. The best way is for us to send a probe in the deep space and not only to 'listen' the skies but to send signals of our own too.
The fact that I downloaded the SETI@home client and it's constantly running on my computer clearly speaks, I think, of my opinion. I really want to help the SETI program not because I want to scream out loud "Look at me! I helped, too!" when we make contact eventually, but for the simple purpose of accellerating at least a little the discovery. That's all.
