| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| I run SETI@home because I wish to contribute to the search for extraterrestrial intelligence. That intelligence may be in the form of another species or even humans from another time who live out among the stars. As I understand it SETI currently analyzes radiotelescope data. Though evidence of ETI may be found in the radio band, I believe other spectra should be analyzed as well. A comprehensive search of ETI might include a search for brown dwarf artifacts, heat signatures generated by smart matter/computronium masses, Matriyoshka brain constructs, or modulated neutrino pulses. Other detectable phenomena may signal ETI as well. Hopefully in the future the resources will be available to explore as many avenues as possible. Intelligence with insight far beyond our own may exist among the stars. Contact with it might just be what our planet needs to evolve into a richer future. |
