Personal background
I'm originally from Nebraska, but now living in Michigan as the winemaker for Fenn Valley Vineyards. I like to tinker with computers in my spare time and run 3 different operating systems on my 1 computer. We have 4 computers in our household, my daughters, my wifes, mine, and 1 spare connected to our hub. We connect to the internet via a "web beetle" this is a small internet gateway router mfg. in Cananda by Protec Microdevices. It allows any one of our computers to connect to the internet individually trough 1 modem and internet account, or all of the machines to connect simutaneously.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe extraterrestrial life exists by the mere number of galaxies that contain star systems and planetary orbits.

It's rather futile to send a beacon to other parts of our galaxy for life to respond as it would take so long to reach any destination. Our very transmissions of radio, tv, sattelite signals I am sure bounce out into outer space and even though not specifically aimed at one spot, could be 'heard' by someone of greater intelligence passing by close to our solar system.

Ellen G. White, one of the original members of the Seventh Day Adventist church movement, had written about an experience she had that was "extra terrestrial" She was taken in vision to a planet that was inhabitated by very tall beings, similar in looks to humans, but this planet had 2 moons that revolved around it. She describes the planet and it's inhabitants in some detail. Since there are many Seventh Day Adventist that believe in the writings of this late 19 century prophettess, then there are a lot of those Adventist that also believe in extraterrestrial life, as I do.
