Profile: Andrés Diaz

Personal background
I was born in Puerto Cabello (Venezuela) and moved to Germany in 1999.
I like to play baseball, basketball and go walking. My favorite hobby is playing pool with friends. I also like to read, watch movies and listen to music.
I speak English, German, Spanish and little bit of Italian, which I'm still learning. I, of course, like to travel and have been to Venezuela (obviously), Germany (obvious too, isnt' it?), U.S.A., Spain, Italy, Denmark and Canada. Well...I was also in the Dutch Airport in Amsterdam and in Austria when we went to Italy.
Maybe I'll travel to your country too =O)
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think that the universe is too big for just one planet with life on it. It's possible that we humans never find extraterrestrial life, but maybe we find it in the near future and even nearby. But it is also possible that we are found first. What the consequences of such a discovery are is not easy to say. We might learn a lot about other planets and the universe. Being not so lucky could mean a real "star wars". But it would be sad if all kinds of life, even extraterrestrial, were as distructive as we are. No, we should not send bacon into space =O( there are too many people starving here....But a beacon, I don't know....
I started SETI@home after being told by a friend of this important project. I think that if there is any possibility to support (above all if it is as easy as SETI@home) then it is our duty and right to do it ;)
