Personal background
Hello,
I'm a 29 young man. I live in Britanny and and just wanted to do something for the community. It could have been medical research, it is SETI.
Maybe I'll change one day.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I don't know whether ET life exists or not. If it does, we may know it one day (when we find it) ; if it doesn't, we might never know (and go on and on looking for it).
The probability of finding something seems very low. The following conditions are necessary : ET life exists ; ET life is a kind of intelligent life ; ET life sent a radio signal on the universe ; this signal is strong enough for us to get it ; this signal is on the frequencies we are looking on ...

If ET life exists, what does it look like. Probably not like us. In SF films, aliens generally have two legs, two arms, one head, ... just like us. But if we look at the terrestrial animals, we can see very different forms of life.

Will ET be friendly or not ? Perhaps but not sure. Somme people are good, others aren't. We just don't know how they would react, nor if they would all react in the same way.

So, let's go on looking and see what happens ...

What I just hope is we would find some great civilizations. I mean, in SF films, aliens all react in the same way, they all have a militarized mind and all have the same opinion (the ideal military world as known on earth). I hope we meet different kind of people, having differents opinions. Civilization, culture, is made of exchange. We can't exchange if we all agree. We do need to discover some very knew kinds of civilizations.
