Not much to say about myself other then I am an IP analyst for an interenet service provider. This is one of the greatest uses for the interenet that I have seen. Allowing personal PCs to be used to number crunch huge amounts of data.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Yea I believe there are lil ETs out there. To use a cliche "It would be a terrible waste of space". I think finding them could be bad or good. No way to know what we would envounter. Could be something so foriegn to use that we can't grasp what we are seeing or we could find them similar in many ways.
As to trasmitting a beacon. We already are really. All the radio noise and other signals we push out into to space we must sound like one hell of a chatter box from the outside. And plus well its going out in all directions as we spin through space so how could we possibly make a better beacon then we already have.
