Profile: Ken McCafferty

Personal background
I am a US born 3rd generation Colorado native, now living in Shrewsbury, MA. Although trained in Physics, I decided to pursue a 20+ year career as a professional Network Systems Engineer.

Now semi-retired I work part-time on various IT Contracts and am also involved in formative Science, "Fractal Cosmology" theory construction. This is a concept that could ultimately lead to a new "Integrated Science", resolving a multitude of disparate issues. A very lofty goal for a self-funded "Citizen Scientist" but it is an interesting and promising project.

I enjoy a variety of non-techy things like Sailing, Movies, Music - and playing Bass in classic rock/blues bands. I believe the creative spirit is alive and well. I also raise Traditional Himalayan kittens as a hobby.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
SETI and associated apps are pragmatic tools for scientific understanding of our extended environment, ET's or not. Of course a "First Contact" scenario will change our World in a dramatic way - for the better, we all hope.

Distributed cooperative networking/computing is an important resource that must be refined for any cooperative development to be successful. The SETI@home project and BONIC cross-project applications, is an excellent practical step in development of a cooperative "Integrated Science" infrastructure.

Suggestion: Implementation of a distributed CPU/GPU Computing resource for hyper-dimension Quaternionic and Fractal cooperative application. SETI and many projects are EM based, the Hamilton-Riemann-Maxwell trio knew that full Electromagnetic Theory understanding could not be realized without inclusion of Quaternion Alebra/Geometry, as introduced by Maxwell in 1873. But few valued complex-vector, hyper-dimensional benefit - except for a young student named Nikola Tesla, and he illuminated a World. Collective hyper-dimension, fractal, and neural-conscious perspective will add important components and scalability.
