I am a PhD student in Japan. I major in biophysics, especially flagellar movement. I usually feel that basic science is fundamental in improvement of our society, that is why I joined in SETI@home project.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. To accelerate basic science.
2. Some new results may appear, that I expect.
3. I wonder there will be a chance in SNS or cloud funding to further promote this project...
SETI@home and Astropulse are funded by grants from the National Science Foundation, NASA, and donations from SETI@home volunteers. AstroPulse is funded in part by the NSF through grant AST-0307956.
