Profile: David Neuenschwander

Personal background
Not adept, do enjoy the iMac. From rural west-central Missouri, Deepwater is my hometown. Been in Belton, MO since summer 2011 and like my location very much. Two lots, tolerant neighbors, little traffic. Borders rural land, have wildlife in abundance. Easy access to all KC.

Amateur astronomer. A member of the Astronomical Society of Kansas City since 1991. Have observed 3 total solar eclipses so far and 2 annulars from centerline. Did not want to return from Chile! Looking forward to a close-to-home eclipse in summer 2017. Have 6 telescopes at the house from 5" - 10". Enjoy Powell Observatory nearby in Louisburg, KS, home of a 30" reflector.

Music freak, prefer aggressive hard rock and classical, synthetic psychedelia, many guilty pop-rock pleasures. Attend the Kansas City Symphony at the still-new Kauffman Center as often as possible. The acoustics are really all that.

Thought we'd be rich making aerial display pyrotechnics then my sensei drank himself to death. Miss him and it horribly. Our colors were excellent including deep, rich blue and purple. RIP, Zack.

"Between positions." Again. Born in 1960, too late for this. Widowed since 2011. Grew up on a farm, my longest and favorite job was in sample receiving and disposal at an environmental lab for 10 years.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
What a thrill it would be to have the first organized signals recognized on my computer!
