Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1) I’ve been crunching for years now and can’t seem to kick the habit. I’ve tried the patches and I’ve even been to a hypnotherapist. I managed to quit for a few weeks but the cravings got too much.

2) When ever I think of what we are trying to do the image of an astrologically huge haystack with a microscopic pin hidden in it comes to mind. However, if no one looks then we’ll never find it and the more people the look the greater the chance.

3) Find a large flat area like The Bonneville Salt Flats, get a few million gallons of phosphorous paint and paint a huge sign “Please contact S.E.T.I. As Soon As Possible” that way as the earth rotates and orbits the sun it will be visible from almost every direction. "Just kidding!!!".

On a more serious not: If you lived next door to a family who were always fighting\trying to kill each other, dumping their waste all over the place and destroying their home. Would you go and visit them even if they invited you?
