Profile: Dale Martin

Personal background
I'm in my late 30's. I've been interested in astronomy and other related areas since I was 7 or 8 and have owned a telescope since age 10. I live in Oregon. The only negative drawback of celestial viewing is finding an open area away from the influence of the city lights.
I also love photography. One of these days when I can afford it, I'd like to purchase an adapter to attach my digital camera to my telescope and do some celestial photography.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home because I believe it is a worthwhile cause. Also, I don't see the government allocating very much money at all towards astronomical research. If there is life elsewhere, I'd like to have the pride in knowing that in some small way I helped find it. Plus unlike the government, I would like to know if there is intelligent life elsewhere in the universe.
