Personal background
I'm 41 and I enjoy old movies, romantic walks in the park and my dream date is...oh, wait wrong profile.

I'm an Ohioan that has always had a penchant for the night sky. I have my grandfather to thank. I remember nights under the Pennsylvania stars when he would point out the constellations and describe the stories behind them how sailors would use them for navigation. I have passed this lore on to my children. My nine year old daughter is, at this time, saving her money for the Day Of Space Privitization. My oldest daughter could give a rat's butt; but, you can't win them all.

I work Computer Support with AFMETCAL in Central Ohio and, having narrowly avoided getting my degree thanks to a nasty marriage, am largely self-taught.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Who was it that said, 'The surest sign of intelligent extraterrestrial life is the fact we have not been contacted'? Of course, I believe there is other life in the universe; what arrogance to believe otherwise. My greatest concern, if it can be called that, is that we shall miss them in our search. Time is long, really, really long and we are so short-lived. 30k years out of billions and billions is but a tinkle in the ocean. I'll keep my fingers crossed, though.
