Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run Seti&Home because I would like to contribute to the processing of information about the Radio Signals that will inevitably form patern that sugest that some civilization far away sent it with the intent of reaching out to other intelegent life elsewhere. We may never detect a signal with our current technology but by taking this step we learn and grow in signal detection and processing. The idea of turning our proccessors as a collective into a massive super computer that doesn't consume needed resources is an excellent idea. It has to be much more efective than purchasing computers and dedicating them to crunching which could not compare to the power of millions of CPU Working on the #s together and it keeps the boubters of the project from flaging it as waste.
