Profile: Nico van de Water

Personal background
Hi there,

Although a Dutch person by birth and upbringing, I have loved Ireland ever since my first visit in 1979. When I descended the steps out of the plane for the first time then, there was something magic and mysterious in the air. Ever since I finally moved in 1996 (!), I have sort felt OK with myself. (Which does not mean that I haven't been happy before that time!!!)
I guess my joining Seti@Home is a similar journey though on a larger and grander scale. Something out there must exist, must be there, but until we find it, we don't know what it is.
What I do? I am a technical communicator, so communication and contact are very important to me. I do technical writing (both in English and Dutch), software localisation, and technical, medical, scientific, and computer/IT-related translations. Oh yes, I also do terminology management, editing and proof-reading, and basic web site design.
Passions? My wife and two beautiful sons (now nearly 5 and just over two [8th February 2002]), XHTML, XML, XSLT, stamps, Indonesian cooking, and lots and lots of music. And I enjoy the occasional glass of beer and good wine.
And my next profile will be from the parallel universe...

Bye, Nico.
