Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. yes of course - we will never discover them, THEY will discover us (actually they certainly already have) - how to know about danger/benefits .... we'll see; it will depend a lot of our behaviour as well
2. hum I don't think so - our radio and TV waves are our best beacon and much faster than a material (and costly) one
3. because I beleive in such a project and I do appreciate the help approach between so many and different human beings
