1: Yes, certainly. That is history that hasn't happened yet; If we ever do, we'll probably blow it. Maybe they are more developed than we are, and will excuse our arrogance & ignorance.
2: Yes. Information to send is not clear --- note that they've had to endure 40 years of "I Love Lucy" before they'll see our beacon.
3: Because I believe in the validity of the search, and feel that even the tiny contribution of unused CPU cycles to SETI is _a good thing_. |
