I think extraterrestrial lifes exists because as is said in the movie "Contact", what a terrible waste of space if we are alone(I paraphrase). Discovery of ET is a crapshoot, it could come at any time or could be years or hundreds of years.
The benefits/dangers of such a contact would be world changing! Benefits would include immense jumps in technology and knowledge. Dangers would be the same.. and of course the possibility that whatever life we were to contact would be so advanced and past us technologically, that they night consider us to be nothing more than we would consider ants. |
