Greetings,
I am Akash Mitra...a student Of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from India. I have been extremely interested and passionate about Astrophysics and Cosmolosy since my childhood. Carl Sagan was the main reason, for which i got immensely attracted towards the subject of SETI. I've been an ardent follower of modern cosmology, and Space Science.
I am also the Team Leader of Ground Station of SNSAT(an university Nanosatellite from India for weather pollution monitoring). I'm also interested in Music, Literature and Poetry. I believe in Science and the wonders of nature. I have a dream to contribute to science for an better understanding of the Heavens.
I'm an great fan of Eratosthenes, Johanes Kepler, Sir. Isaac Newton, Albert Einstein, Edwin Hubble, Richard Feynman,Subrahmanyan Chandrasekhar,Stephen Hawkins, Carl Sagan, Robert Wilson, Roger Penrose,George Smoot...and list goes endless...
I worshipped Carl Sagan for his wonderful endevour to bring space and cosmos to the world in the most interesting and wonderful way, through his television series, COSMOS. |

SETI@Home is a wonderful way for people who believe in this cause and want to support it from far away. We are really happy and proud to be a part of a project which has names like Carl Sagan, Iosif Shklovskii, David P. Anderson, Dan Werthimer associated with it.
Do I believe in Extra Terrestrial Intelligence?
Yes I do...there are many wonderful roads which leads to the fact..."WE MIGHT NOT BE ALONE IN THIS UNIVERSE!!" and why should we believe in that....there are billions and billions of stars out there...and billions of planets. How can we say not one of them are habitable? We havent even searched our own Solar System Properly.
By Extra Terrestrial Intelligence, people automatically imagine a E.T. or something from Sci-Fi movies. But it can be in the very basic form of life. I believe...we will surely find another race...another life form somewhere in our Universe.
