Personal background |
I am a 62 Year old male from the United States. I am a disabled veteran from the Vietnam War. I was a US Army pilot of a huey helicopter and mainly flew at night.
Eight years ago I had the first of several strokes that have slowed me down quite a bit. My health made it very difficult to spend extensive time in front of a computer screen. Prior to my strokes, I was active with the Pennsylvania National Guard, Downhill Skiing, Golf and Woodworking. I am currently active with the Association comprised of the men I served with in Vietnam and was a member of the committee that enabled our unit history book to be published.
I was first involved with SETI many years ago, long before this very nice SETI@home interface was instituted. My desktop computer at home was used bt SETI for many thousands of hours, "crunching" their info. In December of 2009, I logged back on to thr site to see what was happening and was happily surprised at the changes that had occured since I had last been active.
I run SETI@home because I personally believe that it is entirely possible that we are not alone in this universe. As a civilian and as a Military Pilot I believe that I have seen/witnesses UFO's. (UFO's are not necessairily extra-terresterial - just unable to be explained!)
I have plenty of computing power that is not used by me.... SETI can have it!
