Personal background |
My name is Deb Patterson I was born in Northern California and traveled throughout the United States for most of my childhood because my family was a navy family. I currrently reside in Minnesota, however, every now and then when it gets to cold we hop on down to sunny Arizona. I became interested in the SETI@home project about three months ago when a computer man that I know put it on my computer at work. I watched it work for days before I called and asked what is was al about. Now I am hooked and my science and curiousity has taken over.
Thank you

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
1. yes I believe that life other then that of earth exits. the when and how remains to be seen. The possible benefits are that of learning about one another, how we differ and how we are the same. This would be a wonderful discovery for all. The dangers are from those that are afraid of the unknown or of someone or something different. To many people tend to want to destroy what they don't understand.
2. Yes I believe humans should transmit a beacon for others to find in the hopes that communication can be sought out, discovered and maybe even new cilizations can be found that are just as curious as we are in finding if life exists elsewhere. If we take these steps maybe we will learn more about ourselves, our future and our pasts.
3. I run SETI@home in both my office and on my computer at home in the hopes that I am in a small but production way helping those in search of the unknown. Helping those in what ever way I can to discover something that is so great and so wonderful in hopefully finding that life exits elsewhere with a hopeful probability that we can tract and find a way to communicate between each other.
