Personal background
I am male, 43, living in northern germany, quite near the coast line. Though I haven't a clue at all about astronomy and cosmology, I am fascinated by questions, informations and thoughts about the universe.

I work as controller in telecommunication industry, so that I enjoy spending my days off with less pragmatic topics;-)

Moreover I can't believe in the 'Big Bang' as beginning point of time and space...for me it's plausible that there is a endless cyclus of universe's expansion and contraction.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. For me personally there is no doubt: "We are not alone";-)
If I can support the search for extra-terrestrial intelligences by participation in distributed computing, I will be glad to do this.

In my view it's more useful to look for any signals sent from 'Them' instead of sending informations first...in fact we can't know if they are friendly...

2. I think it is a good example how people could working together all over the world - insofar they have one aim in common.

3. I'm still learning about SETI and its projects, my only suggestion would be a knowledge pool about astronomy - on a popular science level...so that even I would understand..
