Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1. I think it would be very naive to think we are the only intelligent beings in the universe, the accidents that created life on earth MUST have been reproduced elsewhere maybe a lot soomer than it happened here. There is hopefully little danger in contacting alien life if they have the technology to travel to our solar system then hopefully they will also have developed beyond the need for conquest and will benefit us by eliminating hunger and poverty as well as advanced medical knowledge etc.

2. Yes we should attempt to transmit signals to other lifeforms but somehow I think that we will be ignored until such a time as we evolve beyond our violent nature.

3. in the hope that we do find signs of alien life and they help us to evolve into a more mature species. My only regret is that I dont think I will be around to see it happen.
