Our search for meaning is seemingly predicated as much on the questions we ask as on the answers we receive. From a statistical and historical perspective, it is always amusing to listen to "experts" give their opinions on the probability of success or failure on any given scientific venture. I wonder what the relevance is of our form of thought and consciousness to other forms of life that evolved in different parts of the universe?
