Profile: Nick Begovich

Personal background
I'm an EMT from Indiana, in the United States of America. I'm a huge fan of the late Dr. Carl Sagan, and I support the SETI project and thoroughly enjoy contributing my computer's spare CPU time to the search. I'm glad to be able to have a part in this.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I run SETI@home because I am interested in the search for extraterrestrial intelligence. I'm eager to learn all I can about the greater Universe, and looking for life outside of our solar system is a huge part of that. And since all I have to do to assist the project is run a screensaver, more or less, I couldn't think of a reason not to run SETI@home. I want to see how that might change our concept of what life is. I want to know the effect of that knowledge on the human race. I want to play a role in our early exploration of the stars. So, here I am.
I can only hope that SETI and similar programs are successful in their mission. I'd like to one day be assured that there is life out there, and that the Universe is that much more special.
I think the system is set up very, very well and have no input to offer other than to express how happy I am that something like it is available.
