| My name is Unnikrishnan R and I am from Kerala, India. I am studying for my masters in computer applications from Amrita University. I am a big fan of sci-fi especially of Arthur C Clarke who inspired me to look beyond the here and now, and to expand the horizon of my imagination. My hobbies include reading, programming , learning new stuff [right now I'm into emergent behavior and artificial life], listening to all kind of weird music et al. Your typical next door nerd, I am calm and rational until somebody starts talking about "Intelligent Design" :) .... I like many others want to resolve that binary possibility : Are we alone in this universe? Both the possibilities inspire awe in me. The thing that really got me going into SETI@Home was the novel "Contact" by Carl Sagan and the movie of the same. |

1. I want to know the truth ... Are we alone out there? I am a student right now ... And pretty useless coz of all the coursework and projects ... but I still want to make any kind of contribution that I can towards SETI ... This seems to be the easiest way, however I want to do more ...
2. You guys were the first in the world to come with a distributed app for PCs to solve hard number crunching problems. Now through BOINC, a host of other problems are also getting solved thanks to SETI's initiative. I think this project is simply BRILLIANT!!! :)
3. Get more people to know about it. There are lot of people out there who will be interested. You can mount something like what the Mozilla team is doing for Firefox 3 now ... |
