I'm a self taught MCSE, A+, and a few others. I was a software tester for IBM and a computer service technician for a number of years.
I always enjoyed working with my hands. As a teenager I worked many jobs that involved working with my hands, from building houses in the construction fields to building my own ornamental plant nursery for landscaping.
In recent years, I have gone back to my childhood love and passion, old cars! I have been working in automotive restoration for a while now, and I have never been happier. Just wish it would pay better...
I have also enjoyed looking at the stars with backyard telescopes. I still do to this very day, err, night that is, look at the stars, planets, galaxies and nebula's'.
I used to have an account with seti@home, but that email no hasn't existed in years. I had well over 500+ units completed, I tried to reclaim them, but had no luck. Oh well, at least I know I did help from 2000 till 2005 or 06.

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

Why do I run SETI@Home? Why not? Every little bit matters, sometimes, that's all it takes is that little bit extra.
What are my views about the project? I'm not qualified to make any statements about how they do it. But, I do know they are looking for other signals, other signs of complex life forms with the technology to send signals. If I can help by letting my computer help compile some data when I am not using it, then why not help them? It is not costing me a cent and I get the knowledge that I did try to help.
I really don't have any suggestions. I am just happy to help. |
