Personal background
I am 47 years old and retired from the USAF. I live in North Eastern North Carolina and enjoy playing piano and guitar.

After my time in the military mostly spent overseas I worked on a contract field team repairing, modifying and rewiring US Coast Guard aircraft. I quit that job just over a year ago to help someone with their startup entertainment company. Although he has a great idea he is a lousy business man who pissed away investors money and chased away potential new investors all while approaching bankruptcy. I gave him a year of my time with the promise of future employment but cut my losses and walked away to start my own graphics design and publishing company. Right now we are working on an illustrated childrens book and doing designs with a new fashion company that is set to launch in September out of New York.

I am also now looking for full time employment as money is starting to get tight.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1) A few years ago I signed up for the SETI project but the computer I had then was too slow to be of any practacle use. Now several years later with a lot more computer power available I thought it was time to restart.

2) The project is worthwhile although there is a high probability that we are searching with the wrong technology because we don't have what is truly needed to find signals being sent out from elsewhere.

I have had a personal sighting of a UFO in Northern Virginia back in the 1970's and have observed other unexplained phenomena so I am quite sure other life does exist out in the vastness of space.

3) I have a pretty extensive background in communications and when I am sure that I have found a new way to search I will let you all know. I am expending most of my extra time right now into trying to develop affordable systems that will take individual home owners off the power grid.
