Personal background |
I am a sophomore undergraduate at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, currently working on obtaining an economics and mathematics double major. I am eager to learn about the topic of game theory, because it combines the disciplines that I enjoy.
As far as hobbies go, I enjoy playing various sports (ice hockey, golf, and tennis are my favorites). In the past few years, I have really gotten into the game of chess. I never realized how complex and exciting chess could be until I started studying it.
I am running the SETI driver program on my personal dell computer with pentium IV 1.7 GHz and 256 MB RAM. After removing several unnecessary background programs, I've gotten my computer to complete work units in under 4 hours now.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I believe SETI@home is a wonderful program, and I wish I'd discovered it earlier. It allows anyone with computer and internet connection to take part in the noble quest of trying to discover intelligent extraterrestrial life. With the program only running when my computer is idle, it is hassle-free.
The universe is such a large place that I find it improbable that we're the only intelligent life shooting signals into space. I cannot say whether we'll discover extraterrestrail life in my lifetime, but we'll never know if we don't try to find it.
