Personal background
I'm was born in Madrid, Spain (although I have a british nationality) and I am currently 18 and studying Computer Science at the University of the West of England, Bristol. I've always been interested in the paranormal and all that's related to it. Apart from that though I'm also a big sports fan (especially soccer). I'm also starting to get into playing the guitar...it takes a lot of patience!!
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think that SETI@home is a brilliant idea...I just don't understand people (such as my parents), who can just dismiss the idea of the slight minute possibility of there being life out there somewhere in our huge universe!!

I suspect if we were to ever discover extraterrestrial life, it would not be like the typical sci-fi movie scene. It will probably be a lot more discreet, such as mathematical equations...or a tip for next week's lottery!! ;-)

It could be a good idea for us to send a beacon for other's to find...the difficult question is deffinately what to send? In my opinion a good signal would be something mathematical as it is the universal language that everybody understands on our planet.

I run SETI@home because I can't bear the idea that there is somebody or something out there trying to contact us and we miss it because we haven't been "paying attention". Although I am probably doing very little with my sole computer I feel that every little bit helps. Keep up the good work guys!
