Hello, all! I am The.Anti.9 as I'm sure you could tell from the large banner above this. My real name is Ryan Merl and I am a 16 year web developer/designer. I do alot of computer work but web development is what i do most. I love playing with and building computers and im sitting in a room of 6 of my own that i have built from scratch parts myself. Currently im working on clustering them together to have them run SETI@home. I think that would be a great use of my extra machines.
Aside from just messing with computers and making websites I play ice hockey for my highschool. I play right wing, and I'm not that good :P.
I run a few local servers at my house including an IRC server, a Ventrilo server and of course a Web Server with MySQL and such. If my ISP didn't block the port I would definatly have my own mail server because I'm obsessed with running everything myself haha. I like to make/use my own utilities when it comes to computers. Mostly just because I think it's fun. And it's all part of learning.
Currently I'm taking Computer Science 3 AP at my highschool. We learn Java in this course. So far I really like it, and I think I'm getting rather good with it. I am also in a PC Hardware course. I love this class. I get to take apart and play with computers all day.
More than anything, I think I love doing personal projects and research. That is what I spend alot of time doing with my friend. We sit down and think of things we would like to develop or things that would be useful to us and then try to make them. Though they hardley ever come out. It's all about learning, and it's fun :] |
| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

| I run SETI@home because I think it is a really awesome cause. I would love to find some Extraterrestrial Intelligence and launch us into a space age. That would be so beyond awesome. I have several spare computers that I dont particularly do anything with, so I put SETI@home on them to help out everyone :] |
