Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Our own existence is proof that life happens and naturally evolves technically. Finding two civilizations close enough to communicate and near the same place in technical advancement will be a great challenge. However, it is a numbers game, and there should be millions of planets with life out there. I believe we will find intelligence within 500 years. But it could be tomorrow. I do not believe that we have had any contact to date. But it will most likely happen before our species becomes extinct. Our DNA could someday be free from our solar system. Maybe this is our purpose.
