I live in western North Carolina, near Asheville. I'm 62 and getting set up to retire from work as a VA electrician.
I joined the US Navy team because I'm a Navy veteran and wouldn't mind contact with other blue water sailors.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think the SETI project is worthwhile. My personal feelings are that the blue planet has not been visited by extraterrestrials because the laws of physics apply to everything and everyone in the universe. Having said that, it's good to know that a project of this magnitude is going on without being funded by our already overburdened tax revenue.
I just signed on today and am still waiting for first contact, so to speak.
